Aircraft Maintenance Technician, LIFT Academy Columbia

POSITION PURPOSE
Oversees, plans, creates, and implements the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) programs in accordance with 14 CFR Part 5, 14 CFR Part 121, and 29 CFR 1904/1910 to reduce work‑related injuries and enhance operational safety across a multi‑station regional airline network. Ensures all safety and training programs meet FAA, OSHA, and Company requirements and supports continuous improvement of the carrier’s safety performance.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret FAA regulations, OSHA standards, technical procedures, and professional publications. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, regulators, and external stakeholders.
REASONING / PROBLEM‑SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to conduct root cause analysis using structured methodologies and apply Safety Risk Management principles.
DECISION MAKING
Makes day‑to‑day decisions used to support strategic safety direction. Decisions often require interpretation of FAA and OSHA regulations and analysis of SMS data. Decisions tend to be short‑term and moderate cost but may influence long‑term safety performance and regulatory compliance.
